Cedar roofing shingles, cedar clapboard or shingle siding and decking, as well as pressure treated lumber and special wood grades and cuts used in the installation of commercial and residential roofing systems are available through the network of Beacon branch warehouses.

Other specialty wood products, such as millwork (trim, columns, shutters, etc.), for finished residential home exteriors are available in some regions served by Beacon.

 

Also available from some Beacon branches are plastic decking materials and custom plastic exterior trim products.

Cedar is a good choice for exterior building applications because of its appearance and durability. Cedar is naturally resistant to decay and insect damage. Red cedar and white cedar are both popular depending on the application.  The relatively new panelized cedar clapboards make cedar siding easier to install, more affordable for the owner and more profitable for the contractor.
